OneWater Marine Inc. announced that it has completed the sale of two dealerships located near Lake Cumberland in Somerset Kentucky to Troxtell Marine. Lookout Marine and Kentucky Marine had combined annual sales of $6 million. |

2023 CPYB Exam Prep Dates
Any CPYB candidate (or CPYB certified member) is invited to participate in an exam prep session. In these two-hour sessions, the instructor covers key topics under each of the five Principal Knowledge categories candidates will encounter on the exam. The CPYB exam is online and can be taken anywhere, anytime. It consists of 145 multiple-choice questions. Each question is linked to at least one of the Principal Knowledge Categories/Topics.

How to Guarantee Success in Sales

Sales success can be broken down to an almost mathematical equation that works every time. There is a direct correlation between work and results when it comes to sales success. If you do the proper amount of work in three key areas, you pretty much guarantee sales success. If you don’t do the proper amount of work in those three areas, you will struggle and may fail completely.
Let’s start with the key to sales success which is: Talking to enough of the right people the right way. If you talk to enough of the right people, in other words, people who want and need your product now, have the means to invest in it, and have the ability to make a buying decision, and you talk to them the right way, meaning you say the right things, you’ll make the sales you need to make. In order for that to happen you have to put the proper amount of work into three key areas, one: number of contacts, two: sales skills, and three: product and industry knowledge.

Nominations Are Open for the 2023 Vincent J. Petrella Chairman's Award
Nominations for the 2023 Chairman’s Award are open! This award, established in 2019, recognizes a CPYB who exemplifies exceptional service and support in the promotion of the profession and the CPYB program. Carmine Galati Sr., founder of Galati Yacht Sales was our first award recipient.
We are asking for your assistance in identifying and nominating individuals who you feel meet these criteria:
- A CPYB in good standing
- Actively engage in boating/sailing activities on a local, regional and/or national level
- Exemplify the professionalism, ethical behavior, and business practices that are the trademark of the CPYB certification
- Actively promote the CPYB program as a way for industry professionals to demonstrate their knowledge and professionalism
The recipient will be chosen based on evidence provided by the nominator as part of the application. In January 2024, the recipient will be awarded an engraved Weems & Plath gift as their personal keepsake and highlighted in a press release and on the CPYB website.
